Being a little blue never felt so good. You may have noticed there are a lot of people out there wearing blue today and tweeting selfies with the hashtag #LIUB for "light it up blue."
Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and even global landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Prince's Palace of Monaco are celebrating with special blue lights for the occasion. The United Nations declared April 2 World Autism Awareness Day in 2007, and we've been celebrating it ever since.
As you may know, we have autism in our family and have committed a portion of all our sales to support autism charity since our founding. Even our name relates: special education teachers tell us a calming game of ro.sham.bo can be a big help if a child needs a little extra attention. We are about more than just the world's best baby sunglasses, junior shades, and matching adult sunnies - we want to try to make a small difference in our community. That is why we support the critical work of the Autism Research Institute in our hometown of San Diego, California.
We have also committed to donating 100% of the proceeds from our special "This Shirt Supports Autism" shirts. Look good, do good. Win win. Please get involved supporting autism, you won't regret it! Added bonus that you get awesome baby shades at the same time.
